The mayor of Juba handed over a 5,000-litre water tank to the local orphanage home after confiscating six giant water containers from traders who broke some local orders.

Mohammed Elhag Baballa said the City Council forbade traders to display their goods outside the shops or on the public ways but some failed to respect the new local orders.

He said the six water tanks were confiscated from traders who disrespected the orders.

Mayor Elhag added that the remaining five tanks will be given to the ministry of social welfare to be used by returnees, aged and disable.

Abdu Waju, who is Juba Orphanage supervisor, received the water tank and appreciated what he called √É”a great offer”.

Mayor Elhag said the City Council will not sell confiscated goods but will use them to help people in need, including orphans, disabled and displaced.
