Wildlife is a critical component in the development of South Sudan and it could be a good source of income for the new nation.
Tonj South County deputy director of wildlife Peter Anai Muorter told Don Bosco FM that the new nation to be born in July 9 went to war to control its natural resources, including wildlife.Mr. Anai alerted that the game reserve in Raja, Western Bahr el Ghazal, is at risk of deterioration and called upon the community leaders to take care of wild animals.
He said wildlife is key for the development of South Sudan because it attracts tourists that bring in money the government can use for development.
The officer noted that wildlife generates income that can be used for developing schools and hospitals.
