Heavy fighting started off this morning in Upper Nile state between the army and forces loyal to a local warlord that was integrated into the SPLA.
A local source told SCR News that SPLA soldiers and Gabriel Tanginya’s militias are involved in heavy fighting since this morning near Kanal, a place some 25 kilometres south of Malakal.A number of SPLA soldiers injured in the clashes were brought to Malakal Hospital for treatment.
Our source said Malakal was calm but there was a huge movement of SPLA soldiers.
