GoSS ministry of health met with partners this morning to review guidelines and reporting to deal with Kala Azar outbreaks across the region.
The director for endemic tropical diseases control Mounir Christ Lado told the press that the workshop was intended to harmonize the guidelines for Kala Azar treatment and reporting across South Sudan.Dr. Mounir explained partners should harmonize the reporting system across the region and get the reports regularly updated.
He pointed out that they shall follow the same treatment for Kala Azar in South Sudan.
Dr. Mounir stressed that they disease is on the increases in Upper Nile, Unity and Jonglei due to insecurity.
He called upon patients to rush for treatment point to avoid the spread of the disease and death.
