Christians are recalling the central mysteries of their faith in a special way during the next three days.
Fr. Nicola Kiri, the PALICA director in the Archdiocese of Juba, told SCR News that the paschal triduum, the three days before Easter Sunday, are special days in the Christian calendar and in the life of the faithful.
He added that the Christians celebrate Jesus’ last Supper and his passion, death and resurrection.
Fr. Kiri said this year Easter has a special meaning for South Sudan, since it is celebrated ahead of independence.
He explained that South Sudan was considered dead but now people are preparing to be a new nation, a new life.
Fr. Kiri said that in these three days Christians are invited to die to sin in order to live in Christ Jesus.
