South Sudan is not going to be a failed state if political leaders cooperate with one another for the good of all.

This is the position of Martin Makur Malual, the Director General in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs in Lakes State.

He told Good News Radio that South Sudan needs strong leaders to offer guidance and direction to the community, solve conflicts by ensuring good infrastructure, health and education, provide security and protect the poor from the oppression by the rich.

He said the Government of South Sudan has to implement a multiparty system in order to make the new country a viable state able to deliver services to the community.

Mr. Makur appealed to the youth involved in conflicts to stop killing one another.

He urged the Government to collect the guns from the civilians in order to reduce random killings in the society.

There have been fears arising from different quarters that South Sudan may not be a stable country with continuous internal conflicts disturbing security and progress.
