EQUATORIANS DEMAND EQUAL REPRESENTATION IN GOVERNMENT

The governor of Eastern Equatoria said the people of Equatoria is demanding equal representation in the government after independence.

Louis Lonong Lojore told participants at the Equatoria Conference 2011 that Equatorians cannot continue to occupy junior positions in the Republic of South Sudan.

He asked the authorities to provide equal representation for Equatorians in ministries, political appointments and public service.

Mr. Lobong added that positions should be given for Equatorians in key federal ministries, including finance, interior or defense and 30 places in embassies.

He suggested the creation of the post of Second Vice President for a Equatorian citizen.
