A wildlife officer from Yei River County urged citizens to protect the fauna and flora of South Sudan.
Captain David Lino from Yei Wildlife Department told Easter Radio that people should protect and care for the wild animals because they attract tourism that can generate income for the development of South Sudan. He commented that people are only thinking and talking about oil, gold and other minerals that are not renewable and much localized.
Mr. Lino said it is rare to see wild animals like antelopes in the county.
The wildlife officer made the appeal today after yesterday’s arrest of an individual caught carrying pieces of dry wild meat equivalent to 15 antelopes.
