A girls’ primary school of Eastern Equatoria is likely to close during the second term due to lack of food.

Sr. Suzan Clare, the Matron of the Bakhita Girls Primary School in Narus, Kapoeta East County, told Emmanuel Radio that the food in stock will last up to the end of the current term.

Sr. Suzan said if the she does not get more food and parents do not make enough contributions to buy rations the school has to close.

Bakhita used to get food from Catholic Relief Services but the US catholic aid group stopped its school feeding programme in 2009.

The food in store was given by Caritas Switzerland under an emergency programme.
