In an effort to improve institutional building for the South Sudan Audit Chamber, the institution opened an English training center to train its staff speak and write better English.

Addressing the press today, Steven Wundu, chairperson of the audit chamber, said the English course meant for five months will enable the 30 professional auditors who were recruited with an Arabic background.

He added that he also borrowed eight auditors from the north and intends to employ all South Sudanese who have been working with the National audit chamber in Khartoum.

Mr. Wundu mentioned that he wrote to the Diaspora seeking for South Sudanese who have knowledge on auditing.

He said the response has been too slow with only two people applying for the positions advertised.

The training of staff came as a result of re-creating the audit chamber that came into full operation in July last year.

Mr. Wundu said that the years of 2005 and 2006 have been audited already and the parliament would receive the report soon.
