Community Education Focused on Conflict Resolving Disputes (CEFORD) and Minyori Agent for Transformation and Development (MATD) is conducting a stake holders meeting at Yei community resource center.
Speaking during the opening of the meeting, CEFORD program coordinator Mawa George Lazarous said the aim of the meeting was to strengthen the networking between the community based organizations implementing HIV/Aids activities and the health centres that carry out HIV/Aids activities.Mr. George said the meeting will also smoothen the level of transparency and accountability to the donors and to the local government in the county.
He added that through such meeting the community based organizations will be able to know areas of referral after giving civic education about HIV to people.
MATD Executive Director Mabe Clement said the organizations strive to see that the rate of HIV/Aids spread is reduced in Yei River County through the funding that they get from Family Health International to disseminate civic education on HIV.
County AIDS Commission program coordinator Chris Issa Gordon said it was the first time that CBO’s called for such a meeting.
He added that he was impressed with their transparency.
The meeting was attended by 28 people different health centers and HIV Testing Centers in Yei River County .
