GERMAN ORGANIZATION PLEDGES SUPPORT TO THE WORKERS’ UNION

The German organization Friedrich Ebert Foundation pledged to support south Sudan workers’ union with the aim of addressing issues affecting employees.

Friedrich Ebert Foundation is a German political organization present in 93 countries across the globe.
Earlier today, the Workers’ Trade Union Convention, under the theme “Workers are the production and development of revolutionary hands”, was held in Juba to elect a body that would coordinate with the Foundation.
German Envoy, Anta Dargatz, said at the convention that they wanted South Sudan trade union to elect a body that would cooperate with her organization.
Mrs. Dargatz urged South Sudan to make a structure that would implement the tasks of the trade union.

Central Equatoria Deputy Governor, Lomule Manace, stated that through the union his government would know the workers’ problems. He added that GoSS and the government of Central Equatoria are committed to supporting the union.
Workers in south Sudan have realized the importance of having a union that would safeguard them and their rights against all forms of exploitation.
