The International Football Federation body, (FIFA) has threatened to ban Sudan from the international football if the country’s Football Federation; the SFC, refuses to repeat their recently conducted elections.
FIFA rejected the results of SFC’s elections because the government did not allow the former president of the association, Dr. Kamal Shadad, to run for a third term, BBC reported.
The international federation warned Sudan that if the elections are not repeated before August 15th, Sudanese clubs along with the national team will be banned from international matches.
FIFA does not tolerate any government interference in football affairs. The SFC is expected to hold an urgent meeting shortly concerning the issue.
