A former member of the Elections Security Committee called for cautiousness among referendum organizers which, he said ,would avoid rigging and irregularities during the exercise.
Phillip Agwer quoted the referendum law, which allows the pro-separation result to be valid if sixty percent of the registered voters cast their votes.
He called upon the competent bodies to be aware of this clause and avoid a crisis in the voting process.
Mr. Agwer noted that misallocation of names during the referendum should be avoided, calling upon the organizers to ensure that all voters vote where they registered.
During the April elections, irregularities in the registration forms were allover Sudan, especially in the south, which resulted in a low turn up of voters in many areas.
