GOSS OFFICIALS TRAIN IN PRIVATE SECTOR DEVELOPMENT

Officials from the GoSS ministry of Commerce and Industry were trained today in private sector development, with focus on designing policies.

The one-day training on policy, strategy development and programming was conducted by Mott MacDonald consultants, and aimed at increasing officials’ skills to develop a private sector that would boost southern Sudan economy.

GoSS project administrator for private sector development, Richard Anyama, told SCR news that land policy gives people the right to own land, which encourages both foreign and local investors.
He explained that microfinance, trade and investment policies would soon be available to give loans and provide a good environment for business people.

Loku Elias, of the ministry of Commerce and Trade, highlighted the significance of people with disabilities as active contributors in economic planning.
