The Manager General of Southern Sudan Electricity Corporation (SSEC) lamented staff maltreatment by clients holding major government posts, who harass revenue collectors and engineers.

Addressing today the gathering for the official visit of the new minister of Energy and Mining to the Corporation, Ajuoi Magot Chol, Manager General of SSEC, said that GOSS institutions and stakeholders do not pay money for electricity use.
Mr. Magot revealed that the stakeholders beat and harass his officials when asked to pay money for their use of electricity. He said many government officials take law in their hand by maltreating simple employees.

On his part, GoSS minister of Energy and Mining, Garang Diing Akuong, said his ministry would provide security personnel from the ministry of Interior to protect money collectors and engineers from SSEC. He added that the SPLA would be called upon if other organs fail to effect security.
