Members of Eastern Equatoria state Legislative Assembly have started a four-day induction training on Parliamentary proceedings.

Deputy Governor, Nartisio Loluke Manir, while opening the training said the strength of a state depends on the knowledge the Members of Parliament (MPs) have about the constitution.
He said that a weak Assembly puts the entire state in dilemma and urged every lawmaker to execute their duties diligently, through collaboration with one another.
Mr. Loluke also advised the MPs to focus on the will of the people they are representing.

Mr. Ferdinand Olang Ameny, UNDP Development Planning Specialist Support to the state, observed that nation building requires a strong foundation to be laid by the Legislative Assembly. He added that the knowledge of the constitution is the only tool that gives the Legislative Assembly the right direction for adequate representation.

The induction training that kicked off yesterday is the second of its kind after a recent one for women MPs.
