SOUTHERN SUDAN NEEDS DOUBLE EFFORTS IN TECHNOLOGY, SAYS VICE PRESIDENT

GoSS vice president said that southern Sudan needs to redouble its efforts in developing information and communication technology.Dr. Riek Machar Teny made these comments during a two-day Information Communication Technology ICT Symposium under the theme “Mitigating digital transformation challenges.”
The symposium aims at solving international competitions and development challenges.

Mr Riek urged southern Sudanese to speed up ICT systems to catch up with the global trends, and improve the welfare of the citizens through job creation.
He affirmed that his government prioritized ICT to promote socio-economic development, cultural heritage, and the values of the people of southern Sudan, and that GoSS hopes to use electronics to minimize corruption and improve health and public service delivery to the citizens.

The symposium was graced by Yahiya Abdalla, Minister of Communication and Information Technology in the Government of National Unity, and other dignitaries of GoSS.
