Joel Kroeker, together with his wife, Heather Peters, coordinate Peace and Justice in Rumbek Diocese.
Mr. Kroeker told Good News Radio that the inspiration for the newsletter came from their interaction with Fr. Bernard Mallia, a Jesuit serving at St. Theresa’s parish in Rumbek, who sold to them the idea of a network between the different parishes of the diocese.
Mr. Kroeker said the newsletter will be one or two pages long, and that it will consist of stories from the ordinary life of the people with examples of reconciliation and peace building.
Mr. Kroeker said that the launched Newsletter is called DOOR, a Dinka word for peace.
The first issue of DOOR Newsletter was released on July 17, 2010.

Peace and Justice Department of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek has launched a monthly newsletter aimed at fostering relationships between the different missions and centers of the diocese.
