The Commissioner of Akobo County in Jonglei State said over ten thousand people have been displaced by floods, following heavy rain in the area last week.
Goi Jooyul Yool called on humanitarian organizations and UN agencies to extend urgent humanitarian assistance to the area and provide air transportation since the county is inaccessible by road, Sudan Tribune website reported.
The commissioner added that the only primary school in the county has been damaged by the floods.
