NCP, DUP, USAP OFFICIALS DEFECT TO SPLM

Officials from the National Congress Party NCP, Democratic Union Party DUP and USAP 2 defected from their parties to SPLM today.

Among the defectors is Job Dhurubai, former GoSS minister of education.
Addressing the media, he said he defected from NCP because he was accused of not giving out sufficient information about SPLM activities.
He noted that the move is contrary to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

Albino Ladu Sayed, chairperson of NCP in Central Equatoria State said NCP is not committed to its policies in the south.
He added that the leadership council in NCP has no programme for south Sudan.

SPLM secretary for political affairs in the southern sector, Antipas Nyok said the new members joined SPLM in time towards the referendum.
He noted that his party needs a lot of support from all people of south Sudan.
Among the defected members is James Surur, chairperson of USAP 2, who affirmed that the party has been dissolved and declared that its members joined SPLM.
Abdelman Makuei of the DUP also resigned with other members of the same party.
