Jonglei State Minister of Agriculture has said food production is critically low and is an urgent issue which needs to be addressed with strong policies.
Mayen Ngor Atem said the new work plan of the ministry is to solve food problem in the State adding that it requires every citizen above 18 years to own a garden.
The southern Sudan Center for census, statistics and evaluation report, released on Tuesday at a workshop, indicates that half of Jonglei population is below poverty line, based on consumption per person per day.
