STABILIZATION PROGRAM TO KICK OFF IN LAKES, SAYS GOVERNOR

The Governor of Lakes State has said that the implementation of the “Stabilization Program” will kick off soon in Lakes State.
The stabilization programme is funded by the Sudan recovery Fund for states with high security threats. Jonglei State is currently under-going the stabilization programme.

Addressing the Press at Rumbek Airport, Governor Chol Tong Mayay said he met the Goss Minister of Finance and a group of donors to discuss the Sudan Recovery Fund while in Juba.

He further said that the implementation of the project was delayed by the elections, adding that the program will help reduce insecurity at border areas by creating road networks and building water reservoirs to benefit the inhabitants of Lakes State and their animals.

The Governor also said that the GoSS Minister of Education will help resolve the challenges faced by the State Ministry of Education, especially with regard to Rumbek Secondary School.

He also revealed that the Chinese funded project of a Teaching Hospital in Rumbek will start soon.

It is hoped that the implementation of the Stabilization Project will enhance infrastructure and security in the State hence control of armed conflicts between the inhabitants of Lakes State and the neighboring states.
