STAKEHOLDERS MEET TO DISCUSS WORLD BANK AFRICA ACTION PLAN

Government officials and members of the civil society in south Sudan met today to discuss “The World Bank Africa action plan” that will be used in the next three to five years.
The meeting took place at the World Bank head-quarters in Juba. Addressing the press, World Bank country director for south Sudan, Lawrence Clarke, said there have been major changes like fuel, food and financial crisis in Africa which need to be modified to reflect the changing world.

He confirmed that the group is discussing on behalf of Africa as a continent.

Mr. Clarke noted that the consultations will take place in all the countries across Africa.

He added that World Bank will discuss with states all over south Sudan on its action plan for south Sudan.

The discussion recommended for intensive capacity building, job creation, HIV/AIDS management projects, establishment of infrastructure like roads, schools and hospitals, availability of clean drinking water among others.
