Fr. Don Bosco Ochieng met the Governor of Lakes State, Chol Tong Mayay, Lakes State Police Commissioner, Chol Alaak Ajak, and the Speaker of Lakes State Legislative Assembly, John Marik Makur in the governor’s office.
Mr. Marik presented the “Ajuras Al Huriya” newspaper which he said it quotes Lakes Police Commissioner saying that Lakes State is serious to disarm individual militias prevailing inside Cueibet County.
Mr. Marik admitted that the Commissioner was misquoted by the newspaper, explaining that there is a big difference between a gangster and militia.
Hon. Marik explained that the matter was of grave concern for the Cueibet Community in Khartoum who have had access to “Ajuras Al Huriya” newspaper, written in Arabic language and widely read in the North and in Juba.
The meeting resolved to follow up the newspaper management to answer to the gross misquotation. The newspaper did not acknowledge the source of its information.
