The three-day Peace Conference bringing together four County Commissioners, Executive and Paramount Chiefs, and cattle camp youth leaders (Gelweng), that kicked off at Rumbek Business Complex on Monday will be extended by one or more days.
Participants are drawn from Rumbek Central, Rumbek East, Rumbek North and Cueibet Counties to discuss ways to deal with insecurity originating from cattle raiding in the counties represented.

Santo Dumic Kocrac is the Advisor for Security Affairs in Lakes State. He told Good News Radio that there is so much to discuss that the conference would be extended by at least a day.

Mr. Kocrac further said that the conference was gathering opinion on how to handle issues of insecurity, adding that the opinions will be given to the governor who will pass them to the Lakes Legislative Assembly.

Mr. Kocrac noted that the opinions gathered will help the government of Lakes State address cases of cattle stealing, border conflicts and cold blood killing.

Rumbek Central Commissioner, Abraham Dut Makol Kuok said that he expected the conference to bring out messages of stability, harmony, and permanent peace in the counties represented.

There are over two hundred participants in attendance.
