ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION CALLS ON ASSEMBLY TO ENACT RELATED LAWS

The south Sudan Anti-Corruption commission called upon the south Sudan Legislative Assembly to enact laws that will strengthen the legal frame work to fight corruption.
Talking to SCR news, Deng Deng Yai, Executive director of the Anti-corruption commission said about eight laws have not been enacted.

He cited the Public financial management and accountability law which he described as vital in guiding public institutions to have quality standards for accounting and managing public finances.

Mr. Deng mentioned the absence of the Audit chamber establishment act.
He noted that the act is vital for a legal frame work that will ensure effective auditing of public finances.

Mr. Deng mentioned that the commission is apparently using the Public procurement and disposal law, regulation 2006 which is not good enough for disposal of public assets.
