Eastern Equatoria state governor has recommended that Non- Governmental Organizations NGOs register their operations in the state.
Speaking at development Coordination meeting on Saturday Louis Lobong Lojore said that the aim of registering NGOs and their activities is to avoid duplication of service delivery.

Mr. Lonong observed that several NGOs concentrate their services in specific Counties yet other areas lack services. Governor’s recommendation followed reports by different NGOs on services they provide to the people in the state and areas of operations.

NGOs operating in Eastern Equatoria also agreed to hold monthly consultation and coordination meetings in their respective ministries on order to streamline their activities in the state. Mr. Lobong said the consultation and coordination meetings are aimed at balancing service provisions and equal distribution in the eight Counties of Eastern Equatoria state.

Representatives of about twenty none-governmental organizations including United Nations agencies, faith based and Civil Society organizations attended the first Coordination meeting.
