US OFFICIAL TO HOLD TALKS WITH PRESIDENT KIIR ON REFERENDUM

The US assistant secretary for African Affairs is in Juba to hold talks with the GoSS leadership on the preparations for the referendum.

Addressing the press at Juba airport, Johnnie Carson said the talks will strengthen a better understanding between the two governments in relation to the forth coming referendum.

Mr. Carson noted that US is committed to the full implementation of the CPA.

He urged officials and stake holders involved to see to it that the referendum takes place on time and south Sudanese acquire an opportunity to decide their status.

Mr. Carson will meet Goss president Salva Kiir tomorrow after a tour on all the USAID facilities.
