The Governor of Central Equatoria pledged cash prizes for the five best performing secondary schools and for the best Sciences female student in the Sudan Secondary Leaving Certificate in the state.
David Lowela Ladu, director general in the State Ministry of Education, told SCR News over the phone that Governor Clement Wani Konga was delighted with the results secondary schools in the state scored and promised 10, 000 SDG to each one of the best five secondary schools in the Sudan leaving certificate.
Mr. Konga also pledged 5,000 pounds to Tesneem Issa El-Medeni, the best female student in the exams.
Miss Tesneem was a student at Rokon Secondary School.
The five best secondary schools are Comboni, in Juba, Saint Mary, in Terkeka, both catholic institutions, and the secondary schools of Terkeka, Loka secondary and Juba Commercial.
The passing percentage for this year was 74.7 percent compared to last year’s 69 percent.
The passing percentage is higher than three years back except 2005.
