The event that starts this evening and ends on Wednesday at the El-Sammani Hall, in the University of Juba, is organized by the Rift Valley Institute and the Centre for Peace and Development Studies at the University of Juba.
The lectures take place at 6:30 PM each evening and the attendance is free or charge.
This evening, historian Douglas H. Johnson and Edward Thomas, from the Rift Valley Institute, deal with the theme “When Boundaries Become Borders”.
Tomorrow is the turn of Cherry Leonardi, a lecturer from the University of Durham, UK, and Tubiana, from the Rift Valley Institute, to present the topic “Local Justice and Reconciliation in Sudan.”
Finally, on Wednesday evening, Nasredeen Abdelbari, from the Rift Valley Institute; and Joanna Oyediran, from the Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa, speak about “Questions of Citizenship.”
Each presentation is followed by a debate by a panel of specialists.
