A candidate to Central Equatoria governorship who lost the race questioned the independence of the electoral body following the rejection of his appeal against the declared results.

Alfred Ladu Gore yesterday criticised NEC’s ruling in favour of incumbent governor Clement Wani Konga, Sudan tribune website reported.

Mr. Gore, who ran as an independent candidate against the SPLM nominee Mr. Konga, accused the SPLM of rigging the elections in the state.

Mr. Gore said NEC failed to show independence as stated by law adding that all its activities during elections were controlled and so it does not surprise people to see its results were manipulated.
