The catholic diocese of Malakal organized a four-day retreat for its clergy to conclude the Year for Priests’ celebrations.
The event that ended yesterday in Malakal gathered 18 diocesan and missionary priests together with Monsignor Roko Taban Musa, the Apostolic Administrator of the diocese, and retired bishop Vincent Mojwok Nyekir Vincent Majok, SCR News correspondent reported.Fr. Marciel Ulal, from Khartoum archdiocese, preached the retreat under the theme The Priest and the Eucharist.
Fr. Ulal led the priests through a reflection about their ministry, their commitment towards the Eucharist and towards people, exploring the social aspects of the Mass.
The preacher said that the celebration of the Eucharist must lead priests to a prophetic presence in the society, denouncing injustices and announcing peace.
The priests of Malakal Diocese are not many and they are from different ethnic communities. They are a telling example that it is possible to live, plan and work together in respect and peace.
