Two suspected rebel leaders accused of having committed war crimes in Darfur surrendered to the International Criminal Court.

The ICC said in a statement that Abdallah Banda Abakaer Nourain and Saleh Mohammed Jerbo Jamus were charged with three counts of war crimes from an attack on African Union peacekeepers in September 2007.

The ICC said the two suspects arrived voluntarily at the court in The Hague, Holland, yesterday following summonses issued last August.

The court said both men were staying at an undisclosed location, where they would remain for the course of the proceedings.

The two men will appear before the chamber tomorrow.
