Education authorities in Central Equatoria ordered a halt on shops operating around school compounds in the state.
David Lowela, Director General in Central Equatoria ministry of Education, told SCR News that Malakia Basic School is surrounded by shops that even difficult the access to the premises.
Mr. Lowela said the ministry decided to stop any construction of shops around the schools to avoid turning their surroundings into business grounds.
Mr. Lowela explained that the ministry would brief the Teachers and Parents Council of the school before deciding over the issue.
Mr. Lowela revealed that the playground belonging to Libya basic school was graphed by an unknown person.
He said the ministry opened a case to regain the possession of the playground.
Mr. Lowela made these statements after the new minister of education visited Malakia and Lybia basic schools in the context of an ongoing inspection of both primary and secondary schools in Central Equatoria state.
