Six states in South Sudan received vehicles for the local ministries to be able to inspect road construction.

USAID handed over six new vehicles to GoSS Ministry of Roads for distribution to ministries in charge of roads in Unity, Upper Nile, Warrap, Northern Bahr-el- Ghazal, Western Bahr-el-Ghazal and Central Equatoria.

The vehicles were equipped to access difficult roads for site inspection.

Last year, Jonglei, Eastern Equatoria, Western Equatoria and Lakes states received their own vehicles.

The minister for Roads and Transportation, Anthony Makana, told SCR News that each state in south Sudan had now a vehicle to enable the supervision of road constructions.

Mr. Makana warned the officials not to use the vehicles for other activities other than road supervision as they used to do in the past.

David Grosley, USAID team leader of the Economic Growth, said the vehicles represented yet another step forward in the strengthening of the road networks in South Sudan.
