South Kordofan elections for the state governor and assembly are slated for the end of the year.
Abdalla Balla Al-Hardalu, Acting Head of the Technical Committee of the National Elections Commission, said that elections in Southern Kordofan State would take place next November and December.Mr. Al-Hardalu added that the polls would be conducted after the new census results were published.
The population of South Kordofan is being counted again after the results from the 2008 Census were dismissed as non-representative.
In the April elections South Kordofan voted only for the president of the Republic and the National Assembly.
Next November voters will choose a governor for the state and the PMs for South Kordofan Legislative Assembly.
