Eastern Equatoria minister of Transport and Roads vowed to use his work experience to build up his ministry despite many challenges he faces.
Minister Otim Peter Karlo told Emmanuel Radio that he handled similar tasks in the past since he was a planner by profession. He added he would manage to put in place an operational ministry.
The ministry of Transport and Roads was restructured by the new governor Louis Lobong Lojore and taken from the ministry of Physical Infrastructure.
Mr. Otim said the ministry lacked adequate qualified personnel since the staff was old and cut down due to financial restraints.
The minister added that he considered requesting the government to reinstate dismissed road technicians and supervisors to allow road works kick off immediately until replacing graduates were available.
Mr. Otim explained that the staff should be replaced gradually.
