South Sudan AIDS Commission is conducting a sustainability analysis of its HIV and AIDS programme to draw a plan using the resources it has.
The initiative aims at supporting the government of South Sudan to coordinate an efficient, high quality and sustainable response to the HIV and AIDS pandemic in the region.Esterina Novello is the Executive Director of Southern Sudan AIDS Commission. She told SCR News that the workshop meant to draw plans and measures to combat AIDS using resources that are available.
Dr. Novello said the workshop would have a great impact in the society if plans were drawn properly.
She added that lack of money limited the AIDS Commission’s activities.
Dr. Novello affirmed that the exercise would help to estimate the financial and human resources required to sustain the HIV and AIDS programmes in south Sudan between 2011 and 2015.
At least 30 participants attended the workshop from the government together with project implementers from NGOs and faith based organizations.
