Students at Rumbek Senior Secondary threatened to cause trouble if the problems of congestion and lack of food were not addressed by the administration of the school.
Tension between the students and the school administration run high on Monday when the students threaten to riot if their grievances were not addressed, Good News Radio reported.Dut Makoi Kuok, Commissioner of Rumbek Central County, was at the school yesterday to calm the students.
Mr. Makoi urged the students to dialogue with the administration, since rioting would only generate more trouble rather than solving the existing problems.
The students claimed that first years had no classrooms since the space was used by Rumbek University.
A male student said the main problems were lack of space and food.
He urged the government to relocate the University in order to make room for classes.
The same student added that he University could postpone its opening until it got its own facilities.
