Kenya Airways inaugurated today its new route linking Nairobi and Juba joining at least another six operators flying between the two capital cities.
Evans Mwaniki, chairman of Kenya Airways, said that it was a very welcomed development to be able to fly to Juba.
Mr. Mwaniki added that south Sudan was a friendly neighbour to Kenya that offered great potential of operations like in agriculture, infrastructure development and manufacturing.
GoSS vice president, Dr. Riak Machar Teny, presided over the inauguration flight as the guest of honour.
Four GoSS caretaker ministers were present at the ceremony that took place at Juba International Airport: the holders of the portfolios Communication, Roads and Transport, Regional Cooperation and Internal Affairs.
