A former candidate for the governorship of Unity state said there was a serious humanitarian crisis in the state that forced thousands of people to go to northern Sudan.

Angelina Teny told SRS that thousands of civilians from Unity state migrated to the north, especially to Kadugli, since the announcement of the elections results.

Madam Angelina added that her team established a small emergency committee to register who left the state and why they left and where they were now.

She explained that thousands from Unity State were now homeless in Khartoum.
