FORGERY STOPS POLICE ISSUING DRIVING LICENSES

Police authorities stopped issuing general driving licenses in Central Equatoria after fake permits were sold to drivers by unknown persons.

Brigadier Martin Wani is the Director of Traffic police of Central Equatoria state. He told SCR News that the Commissioner of police of Central Equatoria state ordered the suspension of issuing driving license due to forgery.

Mr. Wani said South Sudan driving licenses would be redesigned before Traffic Police started issuing them again.

Mr. Wani urged the public to cooperate with the police and report to the concern authorities the places were fake driving licenses were sold.

He asked drivers to obtain the title that allows them to drive their vehicles from the legitimate institutions.

Mr. Wani explained that five suspects were already in prison over the forgery of driving licenses and would face the force of the law.
