Three Sudanese Catholic Bishops are to visit the United States of America to share their views on the country’s transformation and needs.

The three visiting bishops are Rudolf Deng Majak of Wau and president of the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference, Daniel Adwok Kur, the Auxiliary Bishop of Khartoum, and Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala of Tombura-Yambio.

The visit was organised by Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the American bishops’ charity.

CRS advisor Dan Griffin told SCR News that his organization invited the three bishops to visit the U.S. and share their views on the demands of peace and transformation in Sudan.

Mr. Griffin explained that the visiting bishops would carry out advocacy visits to the UN in New York and policy visits to Washington, and conclude the trip with a meeting in Atlanta with the Sudanese diaspora in the U.S.

He said the visit would help to raise the voice of the Sudanese Churches on resources and policy changes needed for the country.

The visit starts next Thursday and lasts for 20 days.
