STUDENTS ON HIV AND AIDS TRAINING

Sixty students are being trained on HIV and AIDS awareness in order to pass on the information at local level while helping locals to improve farming techniques.

Norwegian Peoples’ Aid (NPA) Yei Agriculture Department organized the workshop for at Logobero, near Yei town.

Nasara Lemi, the HIV and AIDS Officer for NPA Agriculture Department, told Easter Radio Easter over the phone yesterday that the 60 students are being trained to be Peer Educators on HIV and AIDS.

Ms. Nasara said that the students who came from the ten states of South Sudan will teach the local farmers new skills and create awareness for HIV and AIDS.

She added that the training lasts for three days and the students are divided into two groups.

The first group attended the training last week while the second started yesterday.

Ms. Nasara explained that the training will help reduce the spread of HIV and AIDS in South Sudan.
