The SPLM says it is one hundred percent sure of south Sudan’s independence come January 2011.
Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth is GoSS head of mission in the United States of America and a member of the SPLM National Liberation Council.He told the press yesterday in Juba that Southerners will choose independence in the referendum.
Mr. Lol said the priority of the SPLM is to take safely southerners to the referendum.
He added that the world is ready for an independent South Sudan.
Mr. Lol mentioned that an opinion study conducted in South Sudan indicates that ninety eight percent of Southerners are for independence.
He added that Salva Kiir Mayardit was given a clear mandate by voters to lead the South to independence.
Mr. Lol said the National Congress Party failed to make unity attractive and therefore the SPLM was left with the only alternative of working towards an independent south.
