Ugandan insurgents raiding areas of Western Equatoria are activity affecting women development programmes in the area and their families.
Rose Ripai Daniel is Women and Family Coordinator in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio.Sr. Rose told SCR News that Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) presence in the area is threatening women and family activities.
She said families are not stable due to LRA operations in the state.
SR. Rose added that travelling within some parts of Western Equatoria is held up by insecurity.
Sr. Rose explained that she established a work plan to help women generate some income through micro economic activities.
She said the activities will help impoverished families, including those of single mothers.
Sr. Rose announced that she is planning to build a hostel for girls who dropped out from school.
LRA activities increased recently in Western Equatoria state after some time of relative calm.
