Women were urged not to start smoking during the World No Smoke Day celebrations.
Many school children gathered today in Juba to mark the event organized by the Seventh Day Adventist Development Youth in partnership with GoSS Ministry of Health.Olivia Lomoro from the Ministry of Health explained that the World No Smoke Day is a global event for people to do without smoking.
Dr. Lomoro added that in South Sudan the event should help the addicted to tobacco to kick out the habit.
Dr. Lomoro said that the government of Southern Sudan will ensure that women in the region do not adopt smoking habits.
The event was marked with speeches and dramas about the dangers of cigarette and other forms of smoking.
