The president of the republic yesterday issued a decree to dissolve the government of national unity and pave the way for a new executive.
Undersecretaries and general secretaries will run the country’s affairs until the new government is formed, AFP reported.The decree kept the Ministries of Presidency and Defense and the Council of Ministers till the formation of the new government.
Omar al-Bashir chaired yesterday the last session of the Council of Ministers in the presence of his two vice presidents Salva Kiir Mayardit and Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, and federal and state ministers.
Omer Mohamed Salih, spokesman of the Council of Ministers, told reporters that the president reiterated his desire to form a broad based government to meet coming commitments and challenges.
The new government is expected to be announced in the first week of June.
The SPLM should obtain 30 percent of the ministerial representation.
