The SPLM said the peace partners are preparing militias in South Kordofan in order to cause instability in Southern Sudan ahead of the referenda.
SPLM Secretary-General, Pagan Amum, told SRS that the National Congress Party is training new militias and keeping old ones to create instability and insecurity in the south.Mr. Amum added that the SPLM has evidence that some militias were sent to Unity State.
He said the NCP is using militias to postpone or cancel the referenda on self-determination for South Sudan and Abyei.
SAF spokesperson Alsawarmi Khalid denied having any militias in the south.
Mr. Khalid said the forces in the region are there to protect the civilian population.
He also accused the SPLM of failing to control the movement of illegal weapons in the region.
